Male and Female Brow Lifts in Sarasota, FL
Specialized Brow Lifts for Men and Women
The aging of the brow area varies extremely variable from person to person. Furthermore, the aesthetics of the male brow are quite different from that of the female brow. The male brow is more horizontal and usually placed over the bony upper margin of the eye socket, while the female brow is more arched over the sides of the brow and is located over the rim of the eye socket. At Bhanot Facial Plastic Surgery, Dr. Bhanot performs brow lifts for men and women.

Female Brow Lifts
Aging of the female brow results in the heaviness of skin and soft tissue that falls into the upper eyelid. The result is a tired, angry look. This also creates heaviness of the upper eyelid skin. In addition, the excessive activity of the central brow muscles will create corrugations of the brow skin and deep vertical wrinkles in the central brow and forehead.
A brow lift is performed to correct this aging process. There are many approaches to performing brow lifts that are not limited to a coronal brow lift, such as a pretrichial brow lift and an endoscopic brow lift. During the consultation, we will discuss the optimal procedure for your unique anatomy. The procedure is performed to elevate the heavy skin over the eyelids and disrupt the central muscles to soften the vertical wrinkles of the central brow. The result is a refreshed, relaxed look that will improve the look of the upper eyelids at the same time. Of course, if an upper blepharoplasty is indicated, it is performed as a separate procedure.
Male Brow Lifts
The aging of the male brow is essentially the same, but the aesthetics dictate a different approach. If a traditional female brow lift procedure is performed on a male, it would feminize the brow and create an unnatural appearance. Male brows need to be examined carefully to determine which type of brow lift will best accomplish the task while maintaining the male aesthetic.
